Picnic Area

Right now, picnickers and all others are welcome to use the recreation area during daylight hours. If you wish to bring a picnic lunch or dinner and use one of our picnic tables or spread it out on a blanket, we have no problem with that so long as you pick up your waste when you leave and either take it with you or deposit it in one of our waste receptacles. If you need to heat or cook something, you would have to bring a camp stove or portable grill. No open burning or campfires of any kind are permitted in the recreation area.

This year, we added several picnic tables thanks to the Mott Park Neighborhood Association. They received a grant for some new tables in Mott Park (the park across Nolen Drive from us) and donated their old tables to the recreation area. We would like to provide additional picnic tables in the wooded area between the clubhouse and the east footbridge and perhaps to the east of that near the old practice green and #9 green. We might also erect charcoal grills for public use. This would be dependent upon a fundraising effort to support the purchase and installation of tables and grills.

If you would like to contribute to the creation and maintenance of picnic facilities, please go to our Contributions page.
